BaseBox 72 Permitting in Santa Fe
The BaseBox 72 has a footprint below 120 square feet.
New Mexico’s modular-building rules provide an exemption from the state modular-building requirements for certain one-story, detached accessory structures that are no larger than 120 square feet, are not used for habitation, and are used as tool sheds, storage sheds, playhouses, or similar structures.
That exemption does not eliminate local zoning, permitting, electrical, mechanical, anchoring, or code requirements.
Within the City of Santa Fe, permits are required for all storage sheds. The city lists sheds under its streamlined Residential Express permit category. It also maintains a standard residential permit category for accessory structures.
